Yemen—Security forces headed by family members of Yemen President Ali Abdullah Saleh launched military attacks Friday on unarmed opposition and on defected troops inside and to the south of the capital just days after Mr. Saleh pledged to resign. One witness said troops loyal to Saleh had carried out the assault and cleared thousands of protesters from the camp, the heart of an uprising calling for his overthrow. The report could not be verified.
Saleh said on his return to Yemen on Friday that he wanted to see a truce to end days of heavy fighting in the capital, but opponents said they feared more bloodshed and the United States demanded he relinquish power.Protesters who have waged more than 10 months of demonstrations beginning in January demanding Mr. Saleh's departure held large rallies in most of the country's govern-orates on Friday, demanding a true end to the Yemeni leader's regime.
Today the Governments are doing the work effective the Vigilance Teams Raided.
