About The Stories Of Sacrifice


The work of art, on the lawn in front of the Unitarian Universalist Church, came from the mind and heart of sculptor Suzanne P. Frank.And it wasn’t the first one the Melbourne resident created. In 2007, she erected the “Fields of Remembrance,” which commemorated each American military member killed in the Iraq War.

It’s these kinds of stunning displays of American sacrifice that prompted Christy Good to nominate Frank for FLORIDA TODAY’s Volunteer Recognition Awards’ 2011 Citizen of the Year.She also helped found the Creative Art Foundation of Brevard, which helps raise money for materials and education for young people in the visual and performing arts.
