The Point guard Tu Holloway scored 21 of his 24 points after halftime and buried consecutive 3-pointers in overtime to extend the team's record to 5-0, the best start in coach Chris Mack's two-plus season tenure. XU got another huge boost from Mark Lyons, who scored 15 of his 19 points after the break and delivered the lay-up that ensured overtime. 
After Vandy's John Jenkins missed a jump shot with 12 seconds remaining, former Commodore Andre Walker grabbed one of his team-high 14 rebounds and found Lyons.The shooting guard scored in transition with 6.5 seconds left, knotting the game at 66.
For years Holloway has had a reputation as a big-game player, and Monday was no exception. After making what Mack called "monster dagger threes" in overtime, the momentum shifted to Xavier and stayed there for good.
