India will host the next Asia Europe foreign ministers (ASEM) meeting in 2013, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna, on a visit to Hungary, said on Tuesday. India will also host the meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asia Europe Foundation next year, in 2012.
Krishna said India has been an active participant in Asia Europe through the last almost five years.
He also made a strong pitch for India’s membership at the UN Security Council. “An overwhelming majority of UN member-states have repeatedly expressed themselves in favour of expansion of the Security Council in both its permanent and non-permanent categories and an improvement in its working methods.
