India Bags First Gold At Asian Games



India bagged its first gold medal at the Asian Games with Srinivasa Rao Balluri winning men's 56 kg weightlifting event on the first day of competition in Guangzhou. Balluri's compatriot Sukhen Dey bagged the silver in the same event. Earlier in the day, the trio of Olympic champion Abhinav
Bindra, Gagan Narang and Sanjeev Rajput clinched the silver in the 10m air rifle team event.

Narang, Bindra and Rajput combined for a score of 1783, a point adrift of gold medal winning Chinese team comprising Jikang Yu, Qinan Zhu and Yifei Cao.

Korea settled for the bronze in this event
